It operates one of the largest fleets and route networks anywhere, with hubs at Dallas Fort Worth, Charlotte, and Miami. The airline carries the heaviest debt load among United States carriers following the merger and pandemic borrowing, which makes deleveraging a stated priority. The AAdvantage program, launched 1981, was the first frequent flyer scheme. Headquarters are in Fort Worth.
