The modern company was assembled by Charlotte-based NationsBank, which acquired BankAmerica in 1998 and took its name. Countrywide and Merrill Lynch followed in 2008, the first bringing years of mortgage litigation and the second creating one of the largest wealth management franchises anywhere through Merrill and Private Bank. Consumer banking supplies the deposit base, and the company is unusually sensitive to interest rate moves given its securities portfolio duration. It employs roughly 200,000 people and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Bank of America equity questions

How much BAC stock is too much?
There is no single threshold, but the larger the share of your net worth in one stock, the more a single bad year can set back your plans. Does Bank of America grant ISOs, NSOs, or RSUs?
Equity compensation at Bank of America typically takes the form of restricted stock units (RSUs). Restricted stock units are taxed as ordinary income when they vest.
Do Bank of America RSUs use double-trigger vesting?
No. Bank of America restricted stock units (RSUs) use single-trigger vesting: each tranche becomes yours as it vests on schedule, taxed as ordinary income at that point, with no liquidity event required.
