Ralph Roberts bought a small Mississippi cable system in 1963 and built the largest cable operator in the United States, with the Roberts family retaining voting control. NBCUniversal came in stages from 2011, adding broadcast, film, and theme parks, and Sky added European pay television in 2018. Broadband subscriptions now matter more than video as cord-cutting shrinks the cable bundle, and wireless resold over Verizon's network is the growth add-on. Peacock carries the streaming strategy. Headquarters are in Philadelphia.

Comcast equity questions
- How much CMCSA stock is too much?
- There is no single threshold, but the larger the share of your net worth in one stock, the more a single bad year can set back your plans. The calculator above quantifies the drawdown impact at 30, 50, and 70 percent for your CMCSA position and weighs selling down (which triggers capital-gains tax now) against hedging (which costs option premium).
- Does Comcast grant ISOs, NSOs, or RSUs?
- Equity compensation at Comcast typically takes the form of restricted stock units (RSUs). Restricted stock units are taxed as ordinary income when they vest.
- Do Comcast RSUs use double-trigger vesting?
- No. Comcast restricted stock units (RSUs) use single-trigger vesting: each tranche becomes yours as it vests on schedule, taxed as ordinary income at that point, with no liquidity event required.
