The company grew from a New York wine operation founded in 1945 into the American rights holder for Corona and Modelo, which it acquired outright from a 2013 antitrust settlement. Those Mexican beer brands supply most of the profit and have taken share consistently. Wine and spirits have been pruned through divestiture to focus capital on beer. A large investment in cannabis producer Canopy Growth was written down substantially. Headquarters are in Rochester, New York.

If a meaningful share of your net worth sits in STZ, concentration risk is the question. This calculator quantifies drawdown impact at 30 / 50 / 70%, and the trade-off between selling down (tax cost now) versus hedging (option premium drag), auto-filled with STZ's option-implied volatility.

Example: 5,000 STZ shares at $131 is a $655,000 position. A 30% drawdown costs $196,500; a 50% drawdown costs $327,500; a 70% drawdown costs $458,500. The calculator quantifies the trade-off between selling down (immediate capital-gains tax) and hedging (option premium drag) using STZ's option-implied volatility and your cost basis.
