Equity comp at Global X Funds

  • Global X Funds (CIK 0001432353) is a Delaware statutory trust registered as an open-end management investment company under the Investment Company Act of 1940. It is not an operating employer and has no employees of its own. The trust is the legal shell for a suite of exchange-traded fund series; portfolio management and administrative services are provided by a separately organized entity, Global X Management Company LLC, headquartered at 605 Third Avenue, 43rd Floor, New York, NY. Any employees of the management company hold equity in that LLC or in its parent, Mirae Asset Financial Group, not in the trust itself. Equity compensation concepts such as RSU double trigger (a grant that requires both an acquisition event and a subsequent involuntary termination before unvested shares accelerate) do not apply to this investment trust entity.

Global X Funds equity questions

How much Global X Funds stock is too much?
There is no single threshold, but the larger the share of your net worth in one stock, the more a single bad year can set back your plans. The calculator above quantifies the drawdown impact at 30, 50, and 70 percent for your Global X Funds position and weighs selling down (which triggers capital-gains tax now) against hedging (which costs option premium).
Does Global X Funds grant ISOs, NSOs, or RSUs?
Equity compensation at Global X Funds typically takes the form of incentive stock options (ISOs), non-qualified stock options (NSOs), and restricted stock units (RSUs). Incentive stock options can trigger the alternative minimum tax (AMT) when you exercise. Restricted stock units are taxed as ordinary income when they vest.
When did the Global X Funds IPO lockup expire?
Global X Funds went public on June 17, 2026. The standard post-IPO lockup runs 180 days, so employee and insider shares generally became sellable around December 14, 2026. Confirm against your own grant paperwork, since some lockups release early or in stages.
