Paramount Skydance also houses major offices and operations at the previous Skydance Media headquarters in Santa Monica, California. David Ellison's Skydance completed its acquisition of Paramount Global in 2025, combining the studio, CBS, and cable networks with a production company built around film franchises. The inherited problem is the one facing every legacy media owner: cable networks throw off cash while losing subscribers, and streaming consumes that cash while building an audience. Film and television libraries have value both as streaming inventory and as licensing revenue to competitors. Cost reduction and content strategy are the two levers management has signaled. Headquarters are in New York.

Equity comp at Paramount Skydance

  • Paramount Skydance's 2025 merger converted (not accelerated) employee equity: each outstanding Paramount RSU award was assumed by the new parent company and turned into an equivalent RSU award in the new stock, keeping the same vesting schedule and same terms for accelerated vesting on a qualifying termination. Performance-based RSUs (PSUs) for periods not yet finished were converted assuming target-level performance was met. Executives are covered by a Change in Control Severance Protection Plan that gives full, immediate vesting of outstanding equity awards only if the employee is terminated without cause, or resigns for good reason, within 6 months before or 24 months after a change in control.
  • RSUs use double-trigger vesting. Two things must both happen before the shares are yours: (1) the normal time-based vesting completes, and (2) the company has a liquidity event (an IPO or an acquisition). Until both happen, you do not yet own the shares and you do not owe tax on them.

OptionsAhoy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Paramount Skydance.

If a meaningful share of your net worth sits in PSKY, concentration risk is the question. This calculator quantifies drawdown impact at 30 / 50 / 70%, and the trade-off between selling down (tax cost now) versus hedging (option premium drag), auto-filled with PSKY's option-implied volatility.

Example: 5,000 PSKY shares at $9.5 is a $47,500 position. A 30% drawdown costs $14,250; a 50% drawdown costs $23,750; a 70% drawdown costs $33,250. The calculator quantifies the trade-off between selling down (immediate capital-gains tax) and hedging (option premium drag) using PSKY's option-implied volatility and your cost basis.

Paramount Skydance equity questions

How much PSKY stock is too much?
There is no single threshold, but the larger the share of your net worth in one stock, the more a single bad year can set back your plans. The calculator above quantifies the drawdown impact at 30, 50, and 70 percent for your PSKY position and weighs selling down (which triggers capital-gains tax now) against hedging (which costs option premium).
Does Paramount Skydance grant ISOs, NSOs, or RSUs?
Equity compensation at Paramount Skydance typically takes the form of restricted stock units (RSUs). Restricted stock units are taxed as ordinary income when they vest.
Do Paramount Skydance RSUs use double-trigger vesting?
Yes. Paramount Skydance restricted stock units (RSUs) vest only when two things both happen: the time-based schedule completes, and the company has a liquidity event such as an initial public offering (IPO) or an acquisition. Until both occur you do not own the shares and owe no tax on them.
