William Boeing founded the company in Seattle in 1916, and it became one of two builders of large commercial jets alongside Airbus, plus a major defense and space contractor. Two 737 MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019 killed 346 people, grounded the fleet worldwide for twenty months, and led to a deferred prosecution agreement; a door plug detachment in 2024 reopened scrutiny of production quality and brought new leadership. Defense, space, and services provide revenue diversification, and headquarters moved to Arlington, Virginia in 2022.

Boeing equity questions
- How much does it cost to hedge BA stock?
- The cost of a protective put depends on how far below the current price you set the floor, how long the protection lasts, and BA's option-implied volatility. A zero-cost collar lowers that cost by selling away some upside. The calculator above prices both structures off the current BA option chain and shows the annual cost, maximum loss, and tax treatment.
- Does Boeing grant ISOs, NSOs, or RSUs?
- Equity compensation at Boeing typically takes the form of restricted stock units (RSUs). Restricted stock units are taxed as ordinary income when they vest.
- Do Boeing RSUs use double-trigger vesting?
- No. Boeing restricted stock units (RSUs) use single-trigger vesting: each tranche becomes yours as it vests on schedule, taxed as ordinary income at that point, with no liquidity event required.
