Founded in 2007 as Atieva to build battery packs, the company hired former Tesla chief engineer Peter Rawlinson and repositioned around luxury electric sedans, launching the Air in 2021 with unusually high range from an efficient drivetrain. Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund is the controlling shareholder and has repeatedly funded operations. Production volumes have stayed far below capacity at the Casa Grande, Arizona plant, and the Gravity SUV followed the sedan. Headquarters are in Newark, California.

Lucid Group equity questions
- How much does it cost to hedge LCID stock?
- The cost of a protective put depends on how far below the current price you set the floor, how long the protection lasts, and LCID's option-implied volatility. A zero-cost collar lowers that cost by selling away some upside. The calculator above prices both structures off the current LCID option chain and shows the annual cost, maximum loss, and tax treatment.
- Does Lucid Group grant ISOs, NSOs, or RSUs?
- Equity compensation at Lucid Group typically takes the form of restricted stock units (RSUs). Restricted stock units are taxed as ordinary income when they vest.
- Do Lucid Group RSUs use double-trigger vesting?
- No. Lucid Group restricted stock units (RSUs) use single-trigger vesting: each tranche becomes yours as it vests on schedule, taxed as ordinary income at that point, with no liquidity event required.
