The odd name comes from an 1908 merger of the Fifth National Bank and the Third National Bank of Cincinnati, and the company remains a regional lender across the Midwest and Southeast. Branch density in core markets funds commercial and consumer lending, and fee businesses in payments and wealth management supplement spread income. Deposit competition and the mix between interest-bearing and non-interest-bearing accounts drive margin. Commercial credit performance is the swing factor in any given cycle. Headquarters are in Cincinnati.

A protective put caps your downside on the FITB position at a chosen floor; a zero-cost collar pays for that floor by capping the upside. This calculator prices both structures off the current FITB option chain, with annual cost, max loss, and tax-treatment notes.

Example: a 5,000-share FITB position at $57.29 is worth $286,450. A 1-year 30%-OTM put on that position typically runs 2-4% of position value per year (about $5,729 to $11,458) before any premium offset from a short call. The calculator prices both structures off FITB's current option chain so you see the actual cost for your chosen floor, tenor, and cap.
