The 2018 combination of Keurig Green Mountain with Dr Pepper Snapple joined a single-serve coffee system with a portfolio of soft drinks. The coffee half is a razor-and-blade model: brewers are sold near cost and profit comes from pods, which requires defending against unlicensed pod makers. The beverage half depends on the direct-store-delivery network that puts product on shelves. Distribution agreements for third-party brands add volume through the same trucks. Headquarters are in Burlington, Massachusetts and Frisco, Texas.

A protective put caps your downside on the KDP position at a chosen floor; a zero-cost collar pays for that floor by capping the upside. This calculator prices both structures off the current KDP option chain, with annual cost, max loss, and tax-treatment notes.

Example: a 5,000-share KDP position at $30.79 is worth $153,950. A 1-year 30%-OTM put on that position typically runs 2-4% of position value per year (about $3,079 to $6,158) before any premium offset from a short call. The calculator prices both structures off KDP's current option chain so you see the actual cost for your chosen floor, tenor, and cap.

The calculator above prices both structures off the current KDP option chain and shows the annual cost, maximum loss, and tax treatment.

Equity compensation at Keurig Dr Pepper typically takes the form of restricted stock units (RSUs). Restricted stock units are taxed as ordinary income when they vest.
